BLYTHE'S DILEMMA

We have established a custom at our house; as soon as Blythe gets home from work, she gets into her comfies and we head for the veranda for discussion and a glass of wine.  I told her a riddle of sorts and she could not figure it out.  Here is what I told her:   Three men went to a Hotel and wanted a room.  The desk man said it would be 30 dollars.  Each of the men gave him ten dollars and went to their room.  The desk man realized he over charged them five dollars and sent the bell hop up with five ones.  The bell hop kept two dollars as he would not get caught.  He gave each man one dollar back.  That means that each man paid nine dollars for the room which is a total of 27 dollars.  The bellhop has two dollars....27 plus 2 equals 29 dollars.  What happened to the missing dollar?   This so frustrated Blythe she demanded to know what happened to the missing dollar. I would not  tell her and she said I could sleep by myself tonight and so I told her.   She is sweet but does get her way.  (to be continued)
